MENA ICT Forum to convene November 16-Intaj

Amman, Aug. 28 (Petra)- The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj), in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, announced organization of the ninth edition of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) ICT Forum , on Novwmber 16-17, at the King Hussein Convention Center in the Dead Sea region.

According to an Intaj statement issued Sunday, some 80 experts and specialists from the public, private, academic and civil society sectors in information and communication technology (ICT) fields from 28 countries worldwide will take part in the forum.

Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmed Hanandeh, said the forum will contribute "significantly" to promoting Jordan's ICT sector and exchange expertise.

The forum, he said, will also contribute to building partnerships with Arab, regional and international companies, lauding role of the supporting bodies and companies to sponsor this "important" event, which enshrines a "true" partnership between the public and private sectors.

Meanwhile, Intaj Chairman of the Board of Directors Eid Sweis, said the forum will discuss financial technologies, cyber security, artificial intelligence, smart cities, Internet of Things, and 5G generation cell networks.

The venue will house a startup village, which features multiple activities, including a hall dedicated to investors to network with startup founders, Sweis added.

In addition, the forum will discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on vital sectors, such as education, medical care, banking and business, he noted.

To address today's concerns , he said the forum will discuss technology role in helping to find innovative solutions to overcome the urgent challenges facing many countries, such as Covid-19 pandemic repercussions, job creation, and mechanisms for lasting business change, he noted.

The 2022 edition features an exhibition of participating companies, as well as an area dedicated to startups and Arab and global pavilions, he said.
